Just a quick note to state that I liked this week’s episode of Smallville a lot more than I expected. In fact, I think this makes the first episode this season I liked! The humor and fun at the beginning of the episode really helped; I always like that sort of thing. I’ll write something up when I’ve seen it again.
I’ve noticed that all of this week’s episodes of my shows have been better than usual: Bionic Woman, Blood Ties, Smallville, even Supernatural (which really had nowhere to go but up at this point). Crossing my fingers that my luck will hold for Torchwood this Friday. Ironically this is the same week as the writers’ strike began, which could mean a long wait for new episodes very shortly (Bionic Woman only has a few more episodes to air before they run out: they shut down production on Sunday because they have no stockpile of scripts; the first half of Blood Ties’ season already aired last year in the U.S. and I think the second half is already complete; no idea how many episodes of Supernatural and Smallville are left until they run out of scripts but I think enough to get them thru November sweeps at least).

This year Supernatural has been better…did you see the episode with the cursed rabbit’s foot…hilarious! I like Blood Ties alright, but the guy who plays Henry looks too young, he’s not as I pictured him from the books and he doesn’t have much chemistry with Vicki…
I’ve been bored with Supernatural this year, actually (and kind of icked out by their usual race & gender issues which don’t seem to be getting any better). The cursed rabbit’s foot is, I think, the one episode I didn’t see – was that the one where they met the woman from this week’s ep? I didn’t see that, and I wish I had because she seems like a great character. I enjoyed their interactions with her a lot.
You’ve read Blood Ties, cool! I…haven’t, I confess =) I started watching because of Christina Cox. I want to read the books too but haven’t picked them up yet. I’m kinda reluctant because now I’ve got preconceived notions of the characters from the TV adaptation that I’m afraid of being shattered =) But the author seems to be pleased with the series, from her blog entries, which is reassuring. If the chemistry’s better, I’d definitely like to read that.
It’s a conspiracy! :D
… designed to give you a good week :]
Now that they’ve followed thru, I can postpone unleashing the viruses on their studios >_>;;
:O
I just watched it. :o
Everybody seems to think that was Brainiac at the end (infecting the girl) but I think it’s Blackrock b/c it fits Blackrock a lot better :O It just came from Brainiac’s ship :O
That could be it! I don’t think it’s Brainiac either. Fifteen minutes into the episode I thought they were going to pull a Venom with Lana, but thankfully they didn’t go that route. Blackrock seems very likely (now to wait for Chloe to refer to “black rock goo” to confirm it =)
So, have I suffered a blow to the head, or was that actually a really good episode (leaving out bits of Lois’ scenes)? I really enjoyed the dialogue with Lana, Clark, Lex, and I thought it actually…worked. People were finally talking to each other and they made sense! And I loved the beginning when Lana first got her powers.
The Lois scenes were AWFUL. XD
I think it was good in that they finally acknowledged that Lana is up to things right now :o Also it lacked the crazy WB dramuh that they usually have XD
I wonder why Clark didn’t ask for MM or Supergirl’s help tho to stop Lana? :o
Also when Lana was saying how killing Lex would save so many ppl… technically Lex has only killed one person not in self defense (that being the doctor at the wedding)… so it would only save one person :o
I want a good episode with Kara in it! :(
Also when Lana was saying how killing Lex would save so many ppl
I figured Lana was referring to 33.1 here – and what he will do in the future (but I can’t remember the exact line). But she probably doesn’t know exactly how many people he’s killed because she’s been kept in the dark about so much. Bet she’d be surprised to find out what Clark’s done and what he’s been responsible for by letting out the Phantom Zone criminals O_O
Yus XD
Lex isn’t actually very evil. :\ The writers often fall into that trap where they think somebody is evil b/c they (and the viewers) have all the information and in the grand scheme of things Lex might be evil. Except Lex doesn’t. :\ All he knows is that Clark is keeping some sekrit away from him and that there are aliens running around with powers who are trying to take over the world.
Mebbe if Clark explained the situation to him, he’d understand. The big problem I think is that we KNOW Clark will be a hero and we KNOW Lex will be evil so it’s just like the writers assume, this is so, but often Lex isn’t written to be bad at all. :o I feel so bad for him! Everybody accuses him of being ebil all the time and he’s pretty justified if he wonders where this is coming from. XD
Clark kills too, or often intends to, except that he’s written as lucky enuf to avoid it (Vandal Savage, I think there was just enuf wiggle room for Kane to have killed himself, etc). :\
I think there’s so much grey area it kinda bugs me when characters act like everything happened black and whitely. XD
I wrote a long response to this but deleted it because it basically boiled down to
WORD.
:(
But.. but… I like your responses!!!
