Site Update: Blog Sidebar

I’ve added “Regular Reads” and “TV Viewing” to the blog sidebar to indicate which superhero comics and sci-fi/fantasy TV shows I’m currently following (I do watch other shows, like Corner Gas and The Colbert Report, but the bulk of my TV viewing really is sci-fi/fantasy). I’m not feeling the love for Supernatural this season, hence the strike-through. But I am watching it…most of the time. Not sure how long Torchwood will stay on the list. I almost forgot to list Atlantis because I don’t watch that on TV, I get it on DVD and am currently working thru season 3. The DVD box sets are released in Canada before the seasons actually air here, but I’m still usually a year behind. I could download it, but I don’t much like watching TV on my computer.

  1. Awww :D I luff Corner Gas and Daily Show/Colbert Report :]

Corner Gas has become like Seinfield for me XD If there’s nothing else on and I’m bored, I can turn to it and know that I’ll enjoy it no matter the episode :]

There are lots of changes coming to your ‘regular’ reads…Supergirl leaving the Legion and it’s going to be written by Jim Shooter, She-Hulk is being written by Peter David(woo-hoo!), the Spirit is getting a whole new creative team…oh, and Supergirl is getting a whole new direction(again!)…I figure keeping the Peter David She-Hulk as a regular is a no-brainer, but are you going to put the rest on ‘probation’?

Speaking of no-brainers…I predict the next show to get crossed off will be Smallville…;-)

@Ami: I have all four seasons of Corner Gas on DVD (my bf buys them as soon as they come out =) They make for GREAT anytime viewing.

@chuck: Smallville’ll be on there until the end of the season regardless of whether I’m enjoying it =)

Whether or not I keep reading Legion will depend on whether the story goes to hell. It’s been my absolute favorite series since the reboot (never read it before), but bringing Jim Shooter onto it strikes me as insane. I don’t see him continuing on in Mark Waid’s vein which I enjoy so much. I don’t just read it for Supergirl, but I’m really, really sad that she’s leaving because I love her on it. I’m hoping Teen Titans will provide me with my Supergirl fix, but I haven’t started reading that yet.

I didn’t know about the new creative team on The Spirit =( Damn, that sucks. Will have to see how they turn out.

As for Supergirl, it’s on there solely because I feel obligated to follow it because I own a Supergirl site ;-) I don’t even read it every month anymore; I catch up on it in batches when I’m in the mood.
