Barbie Collector Supergirl Doll (2008)

This gorgeous Supergirl doll from Barbie Collector is from their Fall 2008 line featuring Batgirl, Black Canary, and Wonder Woman. These “Silver Label” dolls are intended for the mid-range collector, being priced at 40.00 USD and featuring a higher quality than the Mattel DC dolls, including Supergirl, that were released to the mass market in 2003.

My favourites in this line are definitely Supergirl and Batgirl. I normally don’t go for figures of the modern costume, but this is just such a nice figure that I think I would pick it up if I saw it in a store.

The quality of this doll looks very nice in the images I’ve seen of the actual doll out of the box. I love that the costume is both accurate to comics (apart from the high heels) and an attractive rendition of the modern uniform. The hair is gorgeous. It’s also far more affordable than the high-end Tonner DC Stars dolls which start at $125 USD.
