Smallville renewed

According to BuzzSugar, Smallville has been renewed amongst The CW’s stable of craptastic “dramas”: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Supernatural, and America’s Next Top Model (and Everybody Hates Chris, “despite announcing plans to eliminate its comedy division this week” – I hear Girlfriends has been cancelled, not sure about The Game. What’s with the racial/class/format division on that station?) Further proof there is no god: The CW is planning a “modern spin-off” of…get this: Beverly Hills, 90210. Because what the world needs is more whiny, self-absorbed, financially and socially privileged white kids suffering self-inflicted angst in bad clothing.

The CW: destroying my faith in humanity one “successful” show at a time.

The press release states that America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill “are the top-ranked shows on television with a concentration of women 18-34 viewers”, which is evidence of just how desperate (young) women are for any television targeting them. It’s pretty bleak out there.

  1. Wait.. we need a modern spin off of Beverly Hills, 90210? :\ Did they look upon the tvscape (and esp THEIR shows) and decide that there wasn’t enuf whiny, privileged white ppl arbitrary drama going on? :\

I think Smallville needs to be shut down at some point. Like give them a season that’s the END. That way they might actually MOVE TOWARDS SOMETHING! At this rate Clark is gonna be 26, still unemployed, still without an education, still without moving towards a journalism career, still whiny, still not a hero, still not flying, etc :\

On the bright side we’d prolly see Darkseid show up as a deposed tyrant infected with krytponite while a Jor-El created Doomsday and Lana have a torrid affair to make him jealous and Lex dates Granny Goodness or something XD

    I munno >.>

I rly think the ppl behind Smallville need to know that there’s a definite END in order for ANYTHING TO ACTUALLY HAPPEN!

Before it started, I thought this season was supposed to be the last.

This is so true! Nevermind the superhero part, he’s dropped out of college just like every one of his friends. How dumb are they all? I thought at least Chloe would stick with it. Does she really think she’s getting anywhere at the Planet with only a high school education – today?! It’s not the 1970′s anymore. Skills mean nothing to employers, it’s all about the paperwork.

Kara needs to start pushing Clark off cliffs, maybe that’ll jump-start his flying.

    *cracks up*

No wait – don’t say that, they might do it!

I am very worried about the ending of Smallville. They have shown no evidence that they can *do* a good ending to anything. It’ll be rushed, inconclusive, and lame. But there’ll be lots of slo-mo musical montages, I know that.
