Phantom Zone Supergirl Doll by Tonner

I missed this in my previous post. Tonner released an exclusive Supergirl doll last year at San Diego Comic Con 2008. Limited Edition of only 200. I do so hate companies that release exclusives at cons. Store exclusives are discriminatory enough (no, not everyone lives in an American metropolis), but con exclusives are even more cruel. I’ve seen a third party seller on Amazon.com with 3 in stock – vastly marked up of course.

Like all the Tonner dolls, this one is way out of my price range. I would love to own it, regardless of how uncanon it is. Although I think the “Princess Kara of Krypton” outfit was nicer (okay, it’s actually called “Kryptonian Outfit” – but she’s totally an alien princess).

  1. I feel your pain. Try living outside of America with no comic cons to go to. :( Actually that’s a bit of a lie, we have one in London but it’s also for films and tv shows so has very few comic panels/discussions to go to. I want to go to a US comic con.

  2. Aww :( I know the comics scene is vastly different in the U.K. I guess the London one is London Film and Comic Con?

I feel very lucky that Winnipeg now has a con that’s gotten pretty good (heard about it/went to it for the first time last year). Compared to many it’s pretty modest, but it’s far more than I expected to ever come to Manitoba!

  3. yeah, that’s the only one we’ve got. We did have the world fantasy and sci fi con in Edinburgh about 5 years ago, but i was in a crap job and too poor to go. I’m just gonan have to save up and go to the states for a holiday and combine it with a con :D
Probably when I’m 60 odd then I can be a wrinkly old feminist geek scaring everyone :D
