Here is the Adam Hughes variant cover for Power Girl #2. I was very torn between the two covers when I picked it up yesterday. I initially picked up Amanda Connor’s cover, but finally went with the variant because of the complete focus on her awesome pose. Hughes has posted the image on his Deviant Art page with comments. I really like his idea of having her standing in the shade of her own logo! If he could have only restrained himself from overdoing the breasts – they really jump out as the focal point. He’s right about her face: it is pretty. It’s funny that this “quickie” cover, in Hughes’ words, has been chosen to be made into a gorgeous statue.
Best Power Girl statue or figure ever, or what? At $99 USD it’s definitely a luxury item. February 2010 gives me plenty of time to save up though…
I’m still hoping DC will make a statue or something out of Amanda Connor’s cover of #1. It’s so wonderfully iconic, I want to see it everywhere.
Oh that statue is amazing! I’m gonna have to get me a PG figure at some point.. I do have her as Nightwing, but its’ not quite the same.
