Here’s a doll I’d never heard about until today: the 1967 “Ideal Comic Heroine Supergirl” doll, better known to collectors as the Ideal Super Queen Supergirl. I was alerted to her existence by a comment from a visitor named David:
In your pictures of the Action figures, you are missing the most famous and valuable Supergirl figure ever made. The Ideal Super Queen Supergirl figure is worth over $3,000 MIB and approx $1,000 loose. I have one in my own collection if you need a picture of her.
A quick web search for this doll turned up some interesting sites – how have I never heard of this doll before? Her outfit is so cute, and she comes with Krypto!
Jemboy.net’s Comic Heroines page has lots of pictures of this doll. Scoop: Super Queens: Super Collectibles has a brief history of the line. The information out there can be contradictory – see the “Superqueen tip” section on Action Girl. According to Action Girl there was *not* a Sears exclusive Supergirl doll with alter ego outfit, only a Batgirl Sears exclusive. In addition to Supergirl, Batgirl, and Wonder Woman, there was even a Mera doll.
A Super Queen Supergirl actually appeared for sale on Ebay yesterday, along with the Ideal Super Queen Wonder Woman. Just to tantalize you :)

Me: Huh, but why is she in the TARDIS– oh wait, oh wait, the TARDIS does not *actually* look like that inside, DUH. So I guess she is in a living room…
(yes, I got it eventually. i r quick)
I should have noted that she doesn’t actually come with the phone booth. That’s from another doll called “Posin Misty”.
