DC just lost any relevance. I’m not even angry anymore, apparently having moved to the acceptance stage. This is just such a joke, I can’t take them seriously.
The new Teen Titans. Seriously.

I’ve collected comics for 32 of my 35 years. I stuck by DC even when they killed my favorite hero, Kara, and despite having my inner child at peace (I was nine when my world crumbled) with her return, I’m not sure I can support her title when DC is destroying their universe. Then again, why do I care so much what they’re doing when I’ve endured (and eventually loved) multiple incarnations of the best, Supergirl. Sigh. What to do. :( It would be soo funny if it wasn’t so sad. (BTW, very cool site, and extra so that you’re a fellow Canadian!)
Thanks for the kind comments, and yeah, what more can one say? There’s an unspoken contract between creators (or performers) and fans, and when you break that contract, it’s a big deal. Every betrayal is just a little bit harder to come back from.
When I think of this relaunch in the context of a corporate decision being forced onto DC by Warner Bros. (which I’ve suspected from the beginning it is), it’s a little easier to take. But only a little.
Yes, after learning their was a push from the WB, I gained more anger towards them then DC, but I still think if they couldn’t stand up for the characters, they could have done this so much better. Tell fans upfront that things ate being forced to change, and allow it to sink in. Incorporate more creator output, or the very least allow a few more people involved. Get women for once to redesign Wonder Woman, or make it more mainstream by hiring actual fashion designers to submit costumes for characters and have people vote. Something where the fans can feel involved in the direction, and/or allow them to respond to this before resetting and being silent. I understand that fanpersons can be volatile and unreasonable, but when they essentially tell us they don’t care about anyone but their audience from the 1990′s that stayed in that decade. Oh well, I’m becoming somewhat apathetic, but not enough yet to not laugh when this fails!
