‘Future State: Kara Zor-El: Superwoman’ Is Not Good

Martin Gray over at the always-excellent Too Dangerous For a Girl! reviews Future State: Kara Zor-El: Superwoman part 1 and part 2 so you don’t have to waste your time and money (although my soul died a little reading the review). Marguerite Sauvage’s beautiful art is wasted on this story.

Writer Marguerite Bennett is building on the shortlived, reductive idea that Kara wasn’t saved from Argo City’s death for her own worth, but to be Kal-El’s babysitter. But where that 2000s version of Supergirl got over it and eventually became a strong, confident hero in her own right, this Kara seems to have built her personality around it.
