31.The Burundi_wand?
Answer. Burundi is a nation in Africa. Therefore it is stereotyped/wrongly assocated with voodoo. It gives Selena a way to concentrate and channel the power of the Omegahedron through herself, outputting it through the Burundi wand.

32. Spot the dirty habit?
Answer. Every character on the "bad" side smokes at least once in the movie. Nigel in the party scene, Bianca in almost every scene, and Selena in the scene where she makes the cages appear.

33. What is that wire coming from Supergirl's wrist in the Chicago Lights scene?
Answer. The wire emerging from her sleeve and going to the bracelet is exactly that. You can spot it after the FIRST BIG close-up of the blinking beacon.

34. Cape Straps?
Answer. In the THE MAP sequence, red attachment straps are visible alternately attached to the waist.

35. Continuity?
Answer. In the first part of the chicago lights scene, (easier to see in the uncut version), SG's bracelet goes from left wrist, to right wrist, back and forth. In the scene where Kara loses the Omegahedron, Zaltar shouts to her, and then he and Alura run over to help her. In the next frame adjustment, when Kara is actually swept up, you can see him and alura standing in thebackground, and running over again. PICTURE IN PICTURE! In the scene at Midvale school, when her bracelet goes
off during class, she glances at the wall, and uses her x-ray vision to follow a car. Our view of the wall does not change, but what happens behind it does. Its like the room was on wheels and being wheeled around.Yes, Lady Liberty. You have a question? In the Movie poster, the statue of liberty is holding up the wrong hand. Also, SG is depicted flying around it, therefore flying around New York, and yet NY is never mentioned in the movie.

36. Goof in the end credits?
Answer. In the end credits, a credit for CONTINUITY is given twice, non-consecutively, to different people!

37. Artsy Stuff?
Answer. Watch the movie again, but pay attention to Helen Slater's hands. Seriously. Its pretty cool. You can see how graceful and delicate she is. She takes extreme care with everything. Her fingers are very long, and they almost never touch each other (except when she makes a fist). Go ahead right now and watch it again, then come back to this.

38. Is Lucy BLIND?!
Answer. This I find troubling. Why doesn't Lucy wear glasses? Its obvious that she needs them because the didn't see Supergirl beging a few THIN bushes. Remember the color wheel people. Remember which colors stand out when next to another. Red. Blue. Yellow. GREEN?! It should have been more than obvious to spot her.

39. Hay, what's the big idea?
Answer. In the Monster Tractor scene, (in the uncut version, anyway). We see a truck spill a bunch of hay, and then Supergirl flies across the screen, "dragging" the hay behind her. Why? Because she needs to keep her presence a secret. She is on earth for one reason: save argo city. She can't afford to go public. That's also why she must ask Lucy and Jimmy something.

40. STOP COMPARING Supergirl to Superman! I guess they saw this as a one-movie gig and planned for a way for her not to have to return. Although, why wouldn't she? Then she could visit her cousin when he got back from his "peace-seeking mission."
Answer. Superman was adopted by human parents who raised him as a son. He was taught not to show off his powers, and to use them for good. He had years of experience over Supergirl. Supergirl arrived on earth as a blank slate. She had to teach herself overnight, which explains the rock, the flower, and the air "tripping" and falling to the ground.

41. Which city doubled for Midvale?
Answer. Midvale was built in its entirety at London's Pinwood studios, as a large scale set on the backlot. All of the buildings were mockups, except for 'Popeyes' which was built as a complete restaurant.

42. Where were the lake scenes filmed?
Answer. Black County Park, Buckinghamshire, UK. It is right next to Pinewood, and was used in Superman 2 and 3. It was also used for Bladerunner's unicorn scenes, and forest scenes for 'Octopussy' and 'Krull'.

43. How much was shot in the USA?
Answer. No main unit footage with principal actors was shot Stateside, but entirely in England. Onlt background plates for the flying scenes were shot in the USA.

44. Why is Howard Jones on the soundtrack?
Answer. Supergirl was filmed in 1983, and the 2 H.J. songs in the film, 'What is Love?' and 'New Song' were the biggest hits of 1983. It was an era of 'New Romantics' in Britain.

45. Why were the British press denied access to the filming by the producers?
Answer. When Helen Slater arrived in England for filming, the British tabloid press attacked her at Heathrow airport, and printed writing such as "Mousey little Helen Slater" in their papers. 6 months later, however, she had proved them very wrong! Intense physical training and a Revlon deal to make Shania Twain jealous made her SUPERGIRL!!!

46. Why does the whole film look like a Shania Twain video?
Answer. Supergirl was lit by Alan Hume BSC, who had lit the glamorous locations of the Bond films 'For Your Eyes Only' and ' Octopussy'. He made everything look so beautiful, and was responsible for that gorgeous golden sand set. Working with Terry O' Neill then Faye Dunaways's lover and 'Still photographer' on the film, Hume learnt the art of photographing the actress to look as beautiful as possible. He had also had lots of experience in photographing young blondes, having lit Lynn Holly Johnson in 'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Watcher in the Woods'.

47. Hey Look at that!:
Answer. In the FLYING BUMPER CAR sequence, Supergirl flies over the PLAYBOY building.

48. How far?
Answer: Selena outgrows Nigel and jumps in the car. The OH magics the radio on and the report says Superman is on some peacekeeping mission to a galaxy that's several hundred TRILLION light years away. Given that the Universe is only about 14~16 BILLION years old, it is simply not possible for a galaxy to be trillions of light years away.

49. Goof in the end credits?
Answer: In the end credits, a credit for CONTINUITY is given twice, non-consecutively, to di

50. Isn't anyone suspcious?

Answer: Selena and Bianca are watching Supergirl save Ethan from the tractor but they don't see that crucial moment when Supergirl turns back into Linda - and don't even think it's suspicious when one disappears and the other appears in a moment.
