“The Flash” and “Supergirl” Photo Shoot for Variety Magazine
Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin gave us the Supergirl and Flash team-up we’ve been waiting for in the May 18th issue of Variety.
The issue features a lengthy interview with producer Greg Berlanti and a photo shoot with his two most iconic leads, who channeled their comic book alter egos for some incredibly fun and classic hero poses. The shoot took place on the Warner Bros. “Brownstone Street” exterior set which was seen many times on Lois & Clark.
These photos show off our new favourite Supergirl star channeling her Silver Age inspiration. My faves are the classic crossed-arms power stance and the sweetly retro scene of Grant and Melissa strolling side-by-side behind Berlanti.
I would love to see more of the familiar WB exterior sets from Lois & Clark appear on Supergirl. We know the pilot filmed a battle scene on the “New York” set which includes the building that was used for the Daily Planet (check out that subway entrance!). The pilot was also partially filmed on Stage 27 of the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California.
